MAKING PEACE WORKSHOPS AT INVERNESS MUSEUM

Making Peace workshops at Inverness Museum? There are only two days left to book for next Monday’s relaxing and creative sessions, which are for ALL ages and abilities. ‘Making Peace’ is in response to the week of commemorations and armistice.

Monday 9 November: Inner Peace in a Box Workshop

Workshop 1 10-11.30

Workshop 2 2-3.30pm

This workshop explores the theme of peace. What makes you feel at peace? How would you capture that concept in a box? Come along and create your own IMAG inspired individual peace box for our exhibition.

Wednesday 11 November: Peace Tales Creative Writing Workshop

Workshop 1 11.30-1.30pm

Workshop 2 2.30 – 4.30pm

Using a story telling kavad to create traditional folk tales with a peace theme /message. Participants explore different styles of folk tales and explore some of the pathways that lead to war and peace by writing and illustrating their own folk tale using IMAG artefacts and kavad resources.

Thursday 12 November: Peace Tales Shadow Puppet Workshops

Workshop 1 10-12:00pm

Workshop: 2 2.30 – 4.30

Using a theatre style kavad and shadow-puppet screen, participants watch a traditional and modern folk tale about overcoming difficulties for peaceful resolution, then work together to create a new peace tale and shadow-puppet characters with reference to museum objects.

Friday 13 November: Peace in a Box Exhibition opening – 1:30 – 2:30pm

Including talks and performances from artists and participants – we hope that all who have participated in the week will join us for this event.

Saturday 14 November: Peace Symbols Workshop

1 – 4pm, drop-in

Exploring the theme of peace through art and design; looking at different peace symbols from around the world and make your own peace badge, origami peace bird and/or peace notebook.
