My dear friends in Moray, Ross & Caithness
Once again, the General Synod of the Scottish Episcopal Church gathers in Edinburgh. Once again members of our church will travel from across Scotland to share in worship, prayer and debate. The fellowship of our church has traditionally sustained even when the debate itself is passionate and divides opinion.
This year the agenda contains many important matters, the environment, ethical investment, ecumenical relationships and marriage discipline. There will also be opportunities to hear stories of fresh a and exciting developments in mission and ministry and we have some special people to thank for their life among us.
There are those who will struggle with decisions that will be made. Some will be frustrated that we are not moving on certain issues and others cross because we seem to move too quickly on others.
Can I ask that all of you pray for those who will represent this diocese at Synod and to pray for those who are already challenged by the issues we will debate. The synod papers and the link to the Live Stream can be found on the Provincial Web Site.
Please be assured that all of those at Synod will approach the business with prayer and love for the church, offering all decisions to the one we serve Father Son and Holy Spirit.
